Argyle residents Kelly Eustis and Kameron Spaulding put together a great community service with this new Web site of government information. The duo have compiled meeting minutes and budget documents from the town government.
Better Argyle is a bi-partisan effort, too. Eustis is active in the Republican Party and Spaulding is an organizer for the Democrats. The project started in the winter, Spaulding said in a phone interview this afternoon.
“It’s not always easy getting your hands on it even though it’s supposed to be,” Spaulding said. “It’s always been something we wanted to do.”
While the Web site is confined to Argyle for now, the pair plan on expanding the site’s reach to other areas of Washington County.
“Especially in small towns in counties like Washington County, it’s easy to hide what’s going on,” Spaulding said. “Right now it’s going to stay Argyle. Eventually it is something we’d like to expand at least through Washington County.”
