North Country Gazette… a real news source or just liberal trash?

March 13, 2009 · 4 Comments

Oh, how I love liberal news websites proclaiming to be real news sources.

This evening, after sending an organizational press release concerning New York’s 20th Congressional District Special Election to numerous media outlets, I received the following cute, and snarky, response from someone at the North Country Gazette (http://www.northcountrygazette.org):

“ROTFLMAO—Jim Tedisco run a positive campaign?  His ads have been below the belt.  The sucker doesn’t even live in the district.  Save your money, don’t insult voters with your lies and those of Jim Tedisco. He’s the problem, not the solution.”

Now let me ask you: is this professional journalism?

I have no idea who this person is at the North Country Gazette, but I will presume it is June Maxam of Chestertown, NY, the person whom is listed as the payee for a subscription to such publication.  Ms. Maxam, based on other websites I have viewed, claims to be “not pro-life” and a foremost expert on the Terry Schiavo case.

After a fantastic email exchange of me asking why North Country Gazette would not give the press release a fair examination, which was for Our Country Deserves Better PAC, she replied saying Assemblyman Jim Tedisco was a “phony.”  Then I was planted with this wonderful tidbit by her:

“You’ve been told you’re missives are unwanted.  Anything further consistes aggravated harassment.  Watch for your editorial of the type of people supporting Tedisco.  And yeah, I’m a livelong resident of the district and 40 year property owner.  This concludes the communication.”

Hmm… beyond the numerous spelling and grammatical errors I found in the emails (strange for someone who claims to be a “journalist”), I found that this publication was just looking for a fight.  I was told not to “take a hike and don’t send any more email or your trash ‘press releases.’“  Wow.  Who knew trying to connect with a “journalist” in upstate New York would be so hard.

All I can conclude from looking at the “news” website, emails, and reading about Ms. Maxam is that North Country Gazette is nothing more than a pathetic mouthpiece for a crazed liberal living in the Adirondacks.  Will any more press releases be sent there?  No.  Will this “publication” be taken seriously?  Hell no.  Is there more exciting revalations to come?  Only time will tell.
