Conservative PAC To Launch 2nd Wave of Ads in New York-20 Special Election

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Friday, March 13, 2009

The Our Country Deserves Better Committee (website: www.OurCountryPAC.org) today praised Assemblyman Jim Tedisco for committing to run a positive campaign, telling his story to the voters of New York’s 20th Congressional District.

However, our organization, which has begun broadcasting advertisements supporting Tedisco and opposing Democratic candidate, Scott Murphy, will continue to educate voters on Murphy’s background and the reasons he is not suitable to serve in Congress.

“I was on the airwaves speaking to the voters of this district while Scott Murphy was still in Missouri, entrenched in the Democratic political establishment,” said Mark Williams, co-Vice Chairman of the Our Country Deserves Better Committee.

“I saw first-hand that taxpayers could trust Jim Tedisco, because he constantly fought for them.  Scott Murphy hasn’t done a darn thing for the people of this district other than not pay his taxes and bad-mouth the military,” Williams said.

2ND WAVE OF ADS EXPANDS TO TV & RADIO

Last week the Our Country Deserves Better Committee launched its first wave of television advertisements on the four major Albany network affiliates (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX). Next week the size of the TV ad buy will expand, and will be supported by a radio advertising campaign on the following formats: News/Talk, Country and Adult Contemporary.

“There’s a reason the National Tax Limitation Committee PAC endorsed Jim Tedisco and not Scott Murphy. Taxpayer groups know they can trust Tedisco. Scott Murphy’s record on tax issues amounts to his trying to argue that he wasn’t responsible for paying taxes on the corporation he founded because he sold the company before the IRS got on his case,” said Kelly S. Eustis, campaign coordinator for the Our Country Deserves Better Committee, and a Washington County resident.

“Murphy’s campaign has been flooding the airwaves attacking Jim Tedisco, hoping voters won’t focus on Murphy’s embarrassing resume. But we’re going to tell voters about his past attamearing of our military men and women. We’re going to make sure voters know that Scott Murphy couldn’t even be bothered to vote in 8 elections, and yet he now gallingly asks to be the people’s representative in Congress,” Eustis concluded.
