Kelly Eustis, a 19-year-old college student, announced Friday he is running for a seat on the Argyle town board.
Eustis is a member the Washington County Republican Committee and is on the executive board of the New York College Republicans.
“My supporters have been excited about the notion of getting young people involved in local politics and we have a lot of ideas on how to improve our town,” he said in a press release.
Kameron Spaulding, cofounder of Washington County Young Democrats, said he is managing the Eustis campaign.
Spaulding said in an e-mail he is still a Democrat, but is supporting Eustis in the interest of getting young people in public office.
Post-Star staff writer Sarah Sutton, who covers Washington County, expects to report more about the campaign next week.
