Anyone out there experiencing 20th Congressional District campaign withdrawal?
Take heart — the next round of political jousting is already in the works.
Our Country Deserves Better, a conservative political action committee, announced Wednesday it has scheduled a rally at 5 p.m. Sept. 10 in Albany to target new U.S. Rep. Scott Murphy, D-Glens Falls.
The rally will be a stop on a cross country “Tea Party Express” tour from August 28-Sept. 12.
“It will be a two-week long tour targeting politically vulnerable tax-and-spend liberals across the country,” said Kelly Eustis, a spokesman for the California-based organization.
Murphy took office last week, after winning the March 31 special election for the 20th Congressional District seat vacated when Kirsten Gillibrand, D-Greenport, was appointed to the U.S. Senate.
Murphy won by just over 50 percent of the vote against Republican James Tedisco, a state Assemblyman from Glenville.
Our Country Deserves Better PAC ran radio and television commercials targeting Murphy and supporting Tedisco during the special election campaign.
Murphy is expected to run for re-election in 2010.

Argyle, NY — Eusatrix Corporation, a strategic public relations and political consulting firm based in Washington County, New York, was contracted to design and maintain attorney Robert M. Winn’s campaign website for Washington County District Attorney. The website is available at www.WinnForDistrictAttorney.com.
Robert Winn was originally elected District Attorney for Washington County in 1989 and served until 2005. During his initial terms in office, Winn handled some of the most significant and historical prosecutions in Washington County history, including the prosecutions of convicted murderers David Pope, Everett Corey, James Jordan, Colin Murphy, William Burdick, and Frederick Wiedl. Winn also established new programs for the District Attorney’s Office, including a Domestic Violence Program, a Victim Advocate’s Program and the computerization of the District Attorney’s Office.
Winn indicated that he hopes that this campaign will be an opportunity to present plans and initiatives to improve the criminal justice system for Washington County residents. In the early portion of this campaign, Winn had proposed a military advisory panel to assist the courts in dealing with cases involving veterans in an informed manner. Winn also indicated that, during the course of the campaign, he would be proposing initiatives to increase the efficiency of the criminal justice system as well as reducing the costs of prosecution to the county taxpayers. “These are challenging economic times which require every elected official to take every reasonable effort to make appropriate use of the taxpayers’ hard-earned money,” Winn said. “Hopefully, all candidates have received the message that voters are tired of negative campaigning and want to hear about positive initiatives, not negative ads.”
“Mr. Winn is committed to conservative values and understands the need for efficient government which will reduce the tax-burden to the taxpayers,” said Kelly S. Eustis, owner of Eusatrix. “We were pleased that Winn has chosen to work with us as even county-wide political races can benefit from having an Internet presence. The Internet is a more economical manner of getting the message out than filling mailboxes with flyers.” Eustis, age 21, indicated that, during the preparation of the website, Winn, age 55, surprised him with his knowledge of computers. “In today’s world, whether you are prosecuting criminal cases in New York City, or Washington County, you better have a working knowledge of the Internet,” said Eustis.
“Eusatrix is a dynamic political consulting firm,” said Eustis. “We not only offer strategic advice and media relations solutions, but we put conservative candidates and organizations on the forefront with detailed websites, social networking outreach capabilities, and online fundraising.”

Argyle residents Kelly Eustis and Kameron Spaulding put together a great community service with this new Web site of government information. The duo have compiled meeting minutes and budget documents from the town government.
Better Argyle is a bi-partisan effort, too. Eustis is active in the Republican Party and Spaulding is an organizer for the Democrats. The project started in the winter, Spaulding said in a phone interview this afternoon.
“It’s not always easy getting your hands on it even though it’s supposed to be,” Spaulding said. “It’s always been something we wanted to do.”
While the Web site is confined to Argyle for now, the pair plan on expanding the site’s reach to other areas of Washington County.
“Especially in small towns in counties like Washington County, it’s easy to hide what’s going on,” Spaulding said. “Right now it’s going to stay Argyle. Eventually it is something we’d like to expand at least through Washington County.”

Military ballots could provide Republican Jim Tedisco the winning margin in the Special Election for Congress in NY-20. The Our Country Deserves Better Committee (website: http://www.OurCountryDeservesBetter.com) – one of the nation’s largest political action committees – waged an aggressive campaign targeting military families to support Tedisco.
Besides TV and radio ads aired by the Our Country Deserves Better PAC that highlighted Democratic Scott Murphy’s poor stands on military and national security issues, the Our Country Deserves Better Committee also reached out to military families to ensure military ballots were cast for Tedisco.
“Our Vice Chairman, Deborah Johns, is a Marine Mom whose son is serving in the War on Terror. We thus made a special effort to reach out to military families to ensure that Tedisco would win the military ballots cast in this race,” said Kelly S. Eustis, e-Campaign Coordinator for the Our Country Deserves Better Committee.
Eustis is a resident of the 20th congressional district who oversaw Get Out the Vote efforts on behalf of the Our Country Deserves Better Committee.
The Our Country Deserves Better Committee has already spent over $156,000 in the Special Election campaign, supporting Republican Jim Tedisco and opposing Democrat Scott Murphy.

Today in Albany a conservative political action committee, Our Country Deserves Better, announced it will release a second series of television and radio advertisements in support of Republican congressional candidate and Assembly Minority Leader James Tedisco.
Tedisco, R-Schenectady, is running to fill a vacancy in New York’s 20th Congressional District against Democratic candidate and Warren county businessman Scott Murphy. A special election for the district, which includes all or parts of Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Essex, Greene, Otsego, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Warren and Washington counties, will be March 31. The House seat became vacant after Gov. David A. Paterson selected Kirsten Gillibrand to replace Hillary Clinton in the U.S. Senate after President Obama appointed her as secretary of state.
Last week the PAC fired its first round of television ads on four major Albany network affiliates including ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX. This week the size of the TV ad buy will expand, and a radio advertising campaign will be broadcast on news/talk, country and adult contemporary stations, according to a prepared statement issued by the group.
The newest advertisements from the group attack Murphy on taxes, his voting record and what the PAC sees as his lack of support of the military. In one advertisement, an ominous voice asserts, “We can’t trust Democratic congressional candidate Scott Murphy on taxes.”
The group’s campaign coordinator and Washington County resident, Kelly S. Eustis, said in prepared statement, “There’s a reason the National Tax Limitation Committee PAC endorsed Jim Tedisco and not Scott Murphy. Taxpayer groups know they can trust Tedisco. Scott Murphy’s record on tax issues amounts to his trying to argue that he wasn’t responsible for paying taxes on the corporation he founded because he sold the company before the IRS got on his case.”
Another advertisement from the group claims Murphy doesn’t back the military because during college he opposed having the ROTC on his campus.
“I saw first-hand that taxpayers could trust Jim Tedisco, because he constantly fought for them. Scott Murphy hasn’t done a darn thing for the people of the district other than not pay his taxes and badmouth the military,” Mark Williams, the group’s co-vice chairman, said in a prepared statement.
All of the advertisements can be seen and heard at the group’s Web site, www.ourcountrypac.org.

Oh, how I love liberal news websites proclaiming to be real news sources.
This evening, after sending an organizational press release concerning New York’s 20th Congressional District Special Election to numerous media outlets, I received the following cute, and snarky, response from someone at the North Country Gazette (http://www.northcountrygazette.org):
“ROTFLMAO—Jim Tedisco run a positive campaign? His ads have been below the belt. The sucker doesn’t even live in the district. Save your money, don’t insult voters with your lies and those of Jim Tedisco. He’s the problem, not the solution.”
Now let me ask you: is this professional journalism?
I have no idea who this person is at the North Country Gazette, but I will presume it is June Maxam of Chestertown, NY, the person whom is listed as the payee for a subscription to such publication. Ms. Maxam, based on other websites I have viewed, claims to be “not pro-life” and a foremost expert on the Terry Schiavo case.
After a fantastic email exchange of me asking why North Country Gazette would not give the press release a fair examination, which was for Our Country Deserves Better PAC, she replied saying Assemblyman Jim Tedisco was a “phony.” Then I was planted with this wonderful tidbit by her:
“You’ve been told you’re missives are unwanted. Anything further consistes aggravated harassment. Watch for your editorial of the type of people supporting Tedisco. And yeah, I’m a livelong resident of the district and 40 year property owner. This concludes the communication.”
Hmm… beyond the numerous spelling and grammatical errors I found in the emails (strange for someone who claims to be a “journalist”), I found that this publication was just looking for a fight. I was told not to “take a hike and don’t send any more email or your trash ‘press releases.’“ Wow. Who knew trying to connect with a “journalist” in upstate New York would be so hard.
All I can conclude from looking at the “news” website, emails, and reading about Ms. Maxam is that North Country Gazette is nothing more than a pathetic mouthpiece for a crazed liberal living in the Adirondacks. Will any more press releases be sent there? No. Will this “publication” be taken seriously? Hell no. Is there more exciting revalations to come? Only time will tell.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Friday, March 13, 2009
The Our Country Deserves Better Committee (website: www.OurCountryPAC.org) today praised Assemblyman Jim Tedisco for committing to run a positive campaign, telling his story to the voters of New York’s 20th Congressional District.
However, our organization, which has begun broadcasting advertisements supporting Tedisco and opposing Democratic candidate, Scott Murphy, will continue to educate voters on Murphy’s background and the reasons he is not suitable to serve in Congress.
“I was on the airwaves speaking to the voters of this district while Scott Murphy was still in Missouri, entrenched in the Democratic political establishment,” said Mark Williams, co-Vice Chairman of the Our Country Deserves Better Committee.
“I saw first-hand that taxpayers could trust Jim Tedisco, because he constantly fought for them. Scott Murphy hasn’t done a darn thing for the people of this district other than not pay his taxes and bad-mouth the military,” Williams said.
2ND WAVE OF ADS EXPANDS TO TV & RADIO
Last week the Our Country Deserves Better Committee launched its first wave of television advertisements on the four major Albany network affiliates (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX). Next week the size of the TV ad buy will expand, and will be supported by a radio advertising campaign on the following formats: News/Talk, Country and Adult Contemporary.
“There’s a reason the National Tax Limitation Committee PAC endorsed Jim Tedisco and not Scott Murphy. Taxpayer groups know they can trust Tedisco. Scott Murphy’s record on tax issues amounts to his trying to argue that he wasn’t responsible for paying taxes on the corporation he founded because he sold the company before the IRS got on his case,” said Kelly S. Eustis, campaign coordinator for the Our Country Deserves Better Committee, and a Washington County resident.
“Murphy’s campaign has been flooding the airwaves attacking Jim Tedisco, hoping voters won’t focus on Murphy’s embarrassing resume. But we’re going to tell voters about his past attamearing of our military men and women. We’re going to make sure voters know that Scott Murphy couldn’t even be bothered to vote in 8 elections, and yet he now gallingly asks to be the people’s representative in Congress,” Eustis concluded.
